Every Thursday I post a miscellaneous blog/article/post that I’ve written in the past or an interview of an extraordinary individual.
This week’s ThrowBack Thursday edition: Celebrating Two Years of Commencement and Independence.
On May 19th 2012, I graduated from my alma mater San Diego State University with a degree in Social Sciences and an emphasis in Political Science. But it would be on May 22nd 2012, that I would embark on a journey which would change my life forever.
It has been two years since I made the transition from California life to Bostonian Life–and I have made great strides since then. However, when I first touched down on Boston, I was scrambling to find housing. And what made it more challenging was the fact that I was interning for the Mass Dems (full-time) with no paying job and only $800 to find housing and to sustain myself. However, it would be at the very end of that first week that I would not only find housing but a renewal in faith towards my God.
Thank you SDSU for giving me the knowledge to chart my career path.
Thank you Mom and Dad for allowing to me to make the transition from being dependent to being independent.
Thank you John and Mike for giving me a home that is still far away from home
And Thank you God, for sheltering me and providing a roof over my head during those difficult two years.
