Every Thursday I post a miscellaneous article that I have written in the past or an interview of an extraordinary person.
This week’s ThrowBack Thursdays: My Interview w/ Zydeco Legend Preston Frank
How I met the Legend was by sheer luck and fortune.
On the night of my birthday, I was given a ride home from none other than The Taxicab Cowboy or better known as Paul Sullivan. He told me that he was an upcoming artist and that there was a Zydeco event in Watertown, MA, that was looking for an upstart journalist, like myself, to promote their event. Curious I was to learn “Zydeco”, I then hitched a ride w/ Paul and sat down with Legend himself.
Not only did I get the chance to learn about him and his music but experienced it for myself–Zydeco has a lot of “drive” and “funk” as the great legend would say in his Southern tone.
If you’re curious of “what Zydeco and Cajun music is?” and would like to come and experience it for yourself, then go to www.bostonzydeco.org and see when is the next dance party!
